SEREMBAN: Investigation papers on an alleged misappropriation of zakat funds in Negeri Sembilan will be sent to the deputy public prosecutor’s office by next week, police said today.
State police chief Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the police are still in the process of completing its investigations into alleged criminal breach of trust.
“Investigations are continuing and I am not at liberty to disclose the number of people called to have their statements recorded,” he said today.
Allegations about misappropriation of zakat funds involving officials of the Negeri Sembilan Islamic religious council (MAINS) were made on social media earlier this month.
On Feb 13, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission confirmed that the case was being reviewed.
