10-year-old boy among 3 on bike killed in crash

Police say the motorcycle and a lorry were heading in the same direction.

JOHOR BAHRU:
Three people, including a 10-year-old boy, were killed when their motorcycle was involved in a crash with a lorry at Jalan Persiaran Tanjung in Tampoi here this afternoon.

Kempas fire and rescue station operations commander Nor Affendi Wan Yussoff said 10 personnel went to the scene following an emergency call at 4.47pm.

“The motorcycle and lorry were said to be heading in the same direction, from Jalan Cempaka towards Plaza Angsana.

“The rider of the motorcycle was identified as Shahril Abdullah, 38, while riding pillion were Habsah Jailani, 41, and Dany Lukman Naim Abdullah, 10, with all confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers.

“The lorry driver, Faizi Fuad Tan, 30, escaped unhurt,” he said.

He said the bodies of the three victims were handed over to police.
