Mahfuz dares Sanusi to contest a DAP seat

Mahfuz Omar said the Kedah MB should prove he is a leader of all communities.

ALOR SETAR:
Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor has been challenged to leave his stronghold of Jeneri and contest in a DAP-held seat in the coming state election.

“Sanusi has always claimed to be the fighter of Malays and had sworn to fight DAP.

“If he really wants to ‘save the Malays’, he should fight the DAP,” said Kedah Pakatan Harapan (PH) chief Mahfuz Omar.

“This way, Sanusi will get to prove that he is a menteri besar for all and enjoys the support of all the different races in Kedah,” he told FMT.

He proposed that Sanusi contest the Derga or Kota Darul Aman seats, respectively held by DAP’s Tan Kok Yew and Teh Swee Leong.

Previously, Sanusi had challenged Mahfuz to contest a state seat after he failed to defend his Pokok Sena parliamentary seat in the 15th general election.

Mahfuz, a former deputy minister, lost to Kedah PAS chief Ahmad Yahaya.

Sanusi and Mahfuz have been in a war of words after the latter said PH and Barisan Nasional could oust Perikatan Nasional in the state.
