Prasarana to be given KPIs, says Loke

The transport minister says service disruption is one of the main KPIs that will be included.

Transport minister Loke Siew Fook said the KPIs would help the ministry track Prasarana’s performance.
KUALA LUMPUR:
The transport ministry has plans to set key performance indicators (KPIs) for Prasarana Malaysia Bhd to gauge their performance, minister Loke Siew Fook said.

One of the main KPIs would involve service interruptions faced by commuters, he said.

“This must be addressed and reduced,” he told reporters after a launch of the Arts on the Move initiative, here.

The KPIs would also be shared with the public so that they too could monitor Prasarana’s performance, Loke said.

“Discussions are still taking place on several parameters which will be finalised and I will announce how the report will be delivered soon.”

Separately, Loke said the MyJPJ application added a new feature with regard to user registration.

“This feature ensures the security of users who have raised concerns that their identity card numbers may be misused,” he said.

Users, he said, would have to add a set of numbers found behind their driving licences which were unique to each person.

“So, you must have this number otherwise you can’t register. For those who don’t have a licence, they will have to get their licences at the road transport department (JPJ) counter first.”

Last week, Loke announced that private vehicles owned by Malaysians no longer have to display their motor vehicle licences, commonly referred to as road tax.

He said this was part of the transport ministry’s efforts to digitise JPJ’s services, particularly for motor vehicle licences and driving licences.
