
State human resources, health and Indian community affairs committee chairman A Sivanesan said he would seek an explanation from both parties.
“As Malaysians, we should know the appropriate clothes (to wear) to go to certain places.
“But for emergency cases, no matter what clothes people have on, don’t get angry (over this). So, I need to get an explanation from both sides on this issue as soon as possible.
“I can’t blame anyone. But, I will investigate this matter,” NST had quoted him as saying.
The 21-year-old woman had gone to the Kampar Hospital emergency department to seek treatment for menstrual cramps and high blood pressure at 11pm on Sunday.
Upon arriving at the hospital, the woman was informed by a medical assistant that she was dressed inappropriately as she was wearing shorts.
She was asked to change and wear a pair of long pants instead before being allowed entry into the emergency room.
