
Wisma Putra said the Malaysian embassy in Ankara and the consulate-general in Istanbul are liaising with local authorities for the latest updates.
“Thus far, our missions have not received any report of Malaysians involved in the earthquake,” it said.

Latest media reports put the death toll in Turkey at 284, with more than 2,300 injured.
The quake, which struck southern Turkey at 4.17am local time (9.17am in Malaysia), occurred at a depth of 7km. It was followed by a second and third earthquake that struck the Gaziantep province, with magnitudes of 6.4 and 6.5, respectively.
Neighbouring Syria was also affected with 237 people killed and at least 639 injured as strong tremors hit the Idlib, Aleppo, Hama, Latakia and Raqqa regions.
