
He said despite the announcement of the resignation of committee members in PBM chapters in Pahang and Negeri Sembilan, and the Selayang division, the party has not received a single letter to the effect.
“As far as I am concerned, this is just cheap publicity. The party has yet to receive a single letter,” he told FMT.
“Nonetheless, if there are members who wish to leave, I wish them well. But please do it in accordance with the party constitution.”
On the announcement of the dissolution of the party’s state chapters or divisions, Sng said no one has the right to make such an announcement.
“Such a decision can only be made by the supreme council, not by an announcement made to the media by any leader,” he said.
Yesterday, the Negeri Sembilan PBM chapter announced the dissolution and resignation of all members of its state committee, divisions, youth and women’s wings due to a loss of faith in Sng’s leadership.
Its chairman, Rosman Jonet, claimed that Sng was only thinking of his self-interest with his action of revealing the party’s secrets on social media platforms, in addition to issuing statements that had allegedly damaged PBM’s image.
Last week, PBM’s Selayang division announced that its committee had been disbanded effective Jan 15.
Selayang PBM chief JC Jess Choy said the division had lost confidence in Sng as he had broken his promise by not making way for Zuraida Kamaruddin to become the party’s president.
On Jan 14, Pahang PBM announced the dissolution of its committee and eight divisions that were registered with the Registrar of Societies as they had lost confidence in Sng.
