Former Meru assemblyman Abd Rani Osman dies

He lost consciousness while on holiday with his family on Carey Island.

SHAH ALAM:
Former Meru assemblyman Dr Abd Rani Osman died today after losing consciousness while on holiday with his family on Carey Island, Kuala Langat.

Selangor PAS secretary Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir said Rani, 64, died on his way to Banting Hospital at about 5am.

“The funeral rites were conducted at the Banting Hospital before the remains were taken to the As-Syarif mosque in Meru, Kapar, near here, where another funeral prayer was held.”

He was later buried at the Meru Muslim cemetery.

Rani is survived by his wife, four children and 11 grandchildren.

Rani, who studied medicine in Egypt, was Meru assemblyman for two terms from 2008 to 2018. He was also Selangor PAS’ commissioner from 2011 to 2013.

Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari, in a tweet, expressed his condolences to Rani’s family.
