Puteri Sarah, who has two children with Syamsul, filed her divorce papers at the shariah court today, accompanied by her siblings and lawyer Akberdin Abdul Kader.

“I’ve had enough being Syamsul’s wife for nine years. Looks like there’s no more rezeki (blessings) for us,” she told reporters, according to Berita Harian.

Puteri Sarah said she had carried out her duties as a wife responsibly throughout their marriage, especially when crisis befell the couple.

The couple’s marital problems had been in the news after Syamsul’s father, noted producer Yusof Haslam, questioned why his son had kept his second marriage in Thailand a secret from him for four years.

Syamsul, 38, said in an Instagram video on Jan 6 that he had tied the knot with Ira Kazar, daughter of film veteran Kazar Saisi, in Thailand.

He and Puteri Sarah were married in March 2014.
