KANGAR: The Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail said no party should “add fuel to the fire” when a racial issue arises.
Exacerbating the issue, he said, will only make the situation worse and can destroy the spirit of unity in the country.
“All parties, regardless of background and status, should always strive to understand and respect each other to ensure a high spirit of unity and enhance the level of tolerance,” he said in a statement issued by Istana Arau today.
His statement comes after Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin granted an audience to national unity minister Aaron Ago Dagang yesterday.
Also present was the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.
