PETALING JAYA: A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after the half-naked body of a girl was found at a palm oil plantation in Tawau, Sabah, last Wednesday.
District police chief Jasmin Hussin said the body of the 15-year-old girl was found in a drain. She had been strangled, and her hands tied.
“There were other injuries on her body such as a tear on the left side of her head believed to have been caused by a hard object. Her hands and neck were also tied with black tape,” he said, according to a report by Harian Metro.
Jasmin said further investigation revealed that the suspect and victim lived in the same neighbourhood and were children of foreign workers at the plantation.
The boy has been remanded for seven days.
