13 more political secretaries take their oaths before Anwar

The group is the second to be sworn in, and was led by Azman Abidin, who is political secretary to the prime minister.

KUALA LUMPUR:
A batch of 13 political secretaries to Cabinet ministers took their oaths of secrecy in Putrajaya today before Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

They were the second batch of political secretaries to take their oaths. A first batch of 10 were sworn in last week.

Today’s batch was led by Azman Abidin, who has been appointed political secretary to the prime minister. Azman is the division chief of Bandar Tun Razak PKR.

The others were:

  • Jamal Norubit @ Nerubi (political secretary to the deputy prime minister);
  • Razlan Rafii (political secretary to the rural and regional development minister);
  • Che Zam Hamzah (political secretary to the economic affairs minister);
  • Khairi A Malik (political secretary to the higher education minister);
  • Suhaizan Kaiat (political secretary to the domestic trade and cost of living minister),
  • Syazwan Rahimy Mohd Mokhtar (political secretary to the natural resources, environment and climate change minister);
  • Carl Douglas Victor Moosom (political secretary to the entrepreneur development and cooperatives minister);
  • Atiqah Syairah Shaharuddin (political secretary to the education minister);
  • Muhammad Razak Idris (political secretary to the religious affairs minister);
  • V Ravindran (political secretary to the human resources minister);
  • Napsiah Khamis @ Maharan (political secretary to the health minister); and
  • Ghazali Hajiji (political secretary to the Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and special functions minister).

Anwar, who announced the list in a Facebook posting, said 10 others took their oaths of secrecy last week. They were:

  • Megat Zulkarnain Omardin (political secretary to the deputy prime minister and rural and regional development minister);
  • Irwan Zulkarnain Hasbie dan Mikai Mandau (political secretary to the deputy prime minister and plantation and commodities minister);
  • Chiong Yoke Kong (political secretary to the local government development minister),
  • Ambrose Abong Bugek (political secretary to the public works minister);
  • Johari Kassim (political secretary to the home minister);
  • Ooi Tze Min (political secretary to the science, technology and innovation minister),
  • Kamaluddin Effendie (political secretary to the women, family and community development minister);
  • Lee Seang Hock (political secretary to the tourism, arts and culture minister); and
  • Abdullah Izhar Yusof (political secretary to the communications and digital minister).

“May they carry out the duties vested in them well and with humility,” Anwar said.
