Petaling Jaya district police chief Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the suspect was arrested by a team of police officers from the criminal investigation unit at 3.20pm.
“The 31-year-old suspect will be investigated in relation to a video that went viral on Saturday,” he said in a statement.
“The suspect will be remanded for three days under Section 506 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.”
Police previously said the incident occurred last Saturday around 10am.
The video, which was uploaded by Twitter user @zabedabedoo, showed a driver ordering another driver to pull over.
An argument ensued after both drivers got out of their cars.
The driver who ordered the other to pull over then headed back to his vehicle to bring out a long cane which he used to threaten the other driver.
Fakhrudin advised motorists to obey the law.
