However, Mohd Nor Hamzah said Samsuri had previously made his rounds to provide aid to flood victims in the state.
“No information (on his whereabouts), we’re all busy with our own duties,” he told FMT.
He said Samsuri has visited flood victims at several temporary evacuation centres, including in Rhu Rendang and Atas Tol.
“You can check his Facebook page on this. So there’s no issue arising about him being absent because he has been around and putting into motion flood mitigation measures from the start,” he said.
Checks by FMT of Samsuri’s Facebook page showed that he was last seen attending a state programme with Kampung Bukit Gasing PAS representatives on the morning of Dec 10, and then at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu’s (UMT) convocation ceremony in the evening.
Samsuri also uploaded a picture of his special officer, Sabri Zakaria, representing him during the handing over of donations to the victims of a fire at Kampung Bukit Gasing on Dec 11.
Earlier, FMT reported that netizens have started asking questions on the menteri besar’s whereabouts, who they say seems to be absent from the state, amid the worsening floods.
Some 40,450 people in Terengganu have been evacuated to 299 relief centres as of this morning, an increase of nearly 1,000 compared to the 39,500 staying at the evacuation centres last night.
