Eight excavators deployed for landslide rescue effort

The equipment was supplied by the public works department (JKR) and developers.

An eighth excavator was brought to the landslide search area late on Saturday night.
BATANG KALI:
Additional excavators were deployed tonight for the rescue effort to locate nine missing victims of the landslide at Father’s Organic Farm near here.

The machines belong to developers and the public works department (JKR).

In total, eight excavators and 135 personnel will continue today’s rescue mission until 4am today.

As it was raining at midnight, Selangor fire and rescue chief Norazam Khamis said all personnel were on standby to resume search operations.

Nine people are still missing in the landslide which has cost 24 lives. A total of 61 people survived the landslide, which took place at the three campsites at 2am on Friday.
