The Seberang Perai City Council said two camping sites were found in Kampung Agong, Penaga, in Seberang Perai Utara, and Suling Hill in Penanti, Bernama reported.
The one at Suling Hill was found to be at risk for being near a hill slope and the campsite operators were issued a notice to stop camping activities with immediate effect.
The council reminded Seberang Perai residents not to hold any leisure activities around areas that were at risk of natural disasters because of a weather forecast of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds.
All campsites across the country have been told to suspend activities in the wake of the landslide tragedy in Batang Kali, Selangor, which has claimed 24 lives so far.
