Penang hotels record close to 100% occupancy

Penang hotels have recorded close to 100% occupancy rate this month for the first time this year in the post-pandemic era.

Penang tourism and creative economy committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said as the end of the year approached, Penang was set to receive more international visitors, including from Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.

“The occupancy of hotels for December is about 80-100%.

“Many hotels are fully booked now,” he told reporters after the prize-giving ceremony for the Penang Bridge International Marathon 2022 today.
