
While unofficial results are not out yet, over 1,500 PN supporters have gathered outside the counting centre donning the coalition’s dark blue colours and waving PN flags.
PN is leading by over 7,600 votes in the race for the Kedah seat.
There is a six-way fight for the Padang Serai seat between Sofee Razak of Pakatan Harapan, C Sivaraj (Barisan Nasional), Azman Nasrudin (PN), Hamzah Abd Rahman (Pejuang), Bakhri Hashim (Warisan) and independent candidate Sreanandha Rao.
BN has given way to PH for the seat.
The election for the parliamentary seat was postponed following the death of PH’s M Karupaiya on Nov 16. The former Padang Serai MP is believed to have died due to a heart attack.
Karupaiya won the seat in the 2018 general election with a majority of over 8,000 votes.
