It said on its official Facebook page that continuous rain is expected in several states in the north and east of the peninsula, namely Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang, until Saturday.

Sandakan and Kudat in Sabah will also see continuous rain but it is expected to end later today.

A continuous rain warning is issued when there are signs that rain or thunderstorms are expected to occur for more than six hours in a given area.
