Shouts of ‘Reformasi!’ accompany Anwar as he leaves Putrajaya mosque

The prime minister spent time with congregants and mosque committee members.

PUTRAJAYA:
Shouts of “Reformasi” and “Kita Menang” reverberated through the grounds of Masjid Putra here after Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim performed his Friday prayers.

Anwar, wearing a pink baju Melayu and songkok, was greeted by congregants at the main mosque in the administrative capital.

It was his first time performing Friday prayers at the mosque since his appointment as prime minister.

Anwar spent time with the congregants and shook hands with mosque committee members.

This morning, he started his first day on the job as the nation’s 10th prime minister.

He arrived at the Prime Minister’s Office at about 9.55am and was received by Chief Secretary Zuki Ali, Bernama reported.
