
He said about 80,000 police personnel had been deployed, and all elements mobilised to ensure public safety and order, especially from polling day until after the elections.
“Stern action will be taken against any party trying to threaten public order, especially anything that can affect the voting process tomorrow,” he said in a statement.
The police would not compromise with any party that is defiant to ensure public safety and order.
Acryl Sani also advised all parties not to hold any gatherings in open places or parades to celebrate victory.
He added that, in order to ensure smooth traffic flow, police would carry out Ops Lancar by focusing on strategic locations that had been identified as being frequently congested.
PM hopes voters reach home safely
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said he prays that members of the Malaysian family would safely reach their respective hometowns and voting centres to fulfil their voting responsibility.
“Tomorrow, we vote. For those working in other states, go back (to your hometowns) to fulfil your responsibility as a voter. I pray that you will all safely reach your respective hometowns and voting centres and return to work safely too,” he wrote in a post on his Facebook page today.
Ismail said he hoped the voting process tomorrow will run smoothly, without any provocation or untoward incident.
A total of 21.1 million voters will cast their ballots, compared to 14.9 million in 2018.
