
The former Klang MP said this after a voting centre here was inundated by floodwaters of up to 60cm following heavy rain yesterday. Several areas in Klang and Shah Alam were also struck by flash floods. Petaling and Hulu Langat were also affected,
“Time and time again I have called on the EC to tell us their contingency plans and SOPs, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears,” he told FMT.
He said EC’s failure to provide such plans may see many opting not to vote.

“If they do skip the polls, the EC will be partly to blame,” he said.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the EC would decide on whether the electoral process would proceed if the country is struck by massive floods.
On Nov 2, Santiago had questioned the EC’s preparedness for the bad weather forecast by the meteorological department (MetMalaysia) which predicted thunderstorms in 12 states on nomination day.
On Monday, MetMalaysia said it expected good weather in several states during polling tomorrow. It said no rain was forecast in the morning in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor and Sarawak.
However, Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak and parts of Labuan are expected to experience rain and thunderstorms in the morning and evening.
