Tian Chua said that in the past two weeks, Prabakaran had not articulated his vision as well as what PH could do for the people of Batu.
“The people of Batu, until today, are not familiar with what PH will do for them,” he said during a talk show on BFM, which also featured Prabakaran and independent candidate Siti Kasim.
Tian Chua, who is running as an independent candidate in Batu, said he still champions PH’s principles even if he is not contesting under the coalition’s banner.
He said party loyalty is actually about upholding its principles and constitution, including serving the people. “So, in this case, I follow the people’s wishes rather than the party’s regulations,” he said.
Yesterday, Tian Chua said he would lodge a police report against Prabakaran today after the latter claimed that he was preventing PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim from becoming the prime minister.
His lawyer, Gurmukh Singh, said they would also take legal action against Prabakaran for slander and defamation.
On Monday, Malaysiakini reported that Prabakaran had claimed Tian Chua was out to “sap support” from PH in Batu to prevent Anwar from becoming the prime minister.
Prabakaran allegedly said that Tian Chua’s claim of “one vote for me (Tian Chua) is one vote for Harapan” would confuse PH’s supporters.
Tian Chua gave Prabakaran 24 hours to retract the claim and issue an apology.
