
According to an Utusan Malaysia report, Loke said the voter turnout could even be more than the 82.32% recorded in the 2018 general election.
“Based on our survey, many people want to come out and vote because they are seeking change,” he told reporters after a ceramah in Jerai last night.
Loke hoped that the monsoon season would not deter the majority of voters from exercising their democratic right, admitting that floods would definitely make it troublesome for those wanting to cast their ballots.
“That is why we repeatedly objected to holding the general election during this time,” he said.
Umno had been pushing for the dissolution of Parliament to make way for GE15 the past year. In September, these calls continued to grow, prompting PH and Perikatan Nasional to openly oppose holding the elections during the year end.
Parliament was eventually dissolved on Oct 10.
