PAS Youth chief behind ‘go to hell’ remark applies for leave

Shahiful Nasir says it was his personal view and takes full responsibility for what transpired.

Sik PAS Youth chief Shahiful Nasir says the application for leave was made voluntarily.
PETALING JAYA:
Sik PAS Youth chief Shahiful Nasir, who reportedly said anyone who voted for Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional would go to hell, has applied for leave from his duties as well as all other party positions.

The leave is for a period that will be announced later, Bernama reported, adding that the application was made through a letter addressed to the Sik PAS secretary last Friday.

In the letter, Shahiful said the decision was made following a viral video which featured his comment.

He said his application for leave was made voluntarily and he took full responsibility for what transpired.

“The speech in the video is my own and does not represent PAS in particular or Perikatan Nasional (PN) in general. I would like to apologise to all parties who were affected and offended by my speech, whether they are in PAS or PN,” he said.

Kedah PAS deputy commissioner Sanusi Nor confirmed Shahiful’s application.
