
PETALING JAYA: More than 200 people in Johor were forced to leave their homes after torrential rain caused flash floods in the state.
According to Bernama, the disaster management committee said a total of 257 people were evacuated in Kulai and Kluang as of last night.
It added that three temporary relief centres were opened in the two districts.
Johor becomes the latest state to be hit by floods amid the general election campaign, after hundreds were reportedly evacuated in three other states yesterday.
Yesterday, 890 victims in Selangor were evacuated, 117 in Penang, 239 in Kedah and 29 in Melaka. Several general election candidates have suspended their campaigning activities to assist flood victims.
