In a statement, Bung claimed that Rubin, the Tenom Bersatu chief and Kemabong assemblyman, had breached the electoral pact between BN and GRS.
He accused Rubin of being behind his son Riduan Rubin’s entry into Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Malaysia (KDM) today.
KDM, led by former Warisan vice-president Peter Anthony is a pro-GRS party. Riduan is contesting the Tenom seat as an independent.
Under the BN-GRS’ political pact, the Tenom seat is to be contested by BN.
He said disciplinary action should be taken against leaders who violate the agreement, including terminating their appointment as chairmen or any position in any agency or government-linked company.
“Action that violates this agreement gives a negative impression of BN-GRS cooperation and erodes support for Jamawi Jaafar, the BN candidate in the Tenom parliamentary seat.”
Bung called for disciplinary action against Rubin, for the latter’s alleged role in his son’s nomination in Tenom, as this would serve as a reminder to all BN-GRS members and leaders not to take their coalitions’ cooperation lightly.
He said Riduan’s entry into KDM was believed to have got the support of Melalap assemblyman and KDM president, Peter Anthony whose candidacy in Tenom was rejected by the Election Commission on Nov 5.
Earlier today, Riduan was reported to have handed over his KDM membership form to Peter in a brief ceremony in Tenom.
