A Pahang PH leader who declined to be named, said Manolan Mohamad, a former senator, brought his old identification card (IC) to the nomination centre.
“His actual address (according to his new IC) is in Kemayan but the IC he brought listed an address outside of Pahang.”
According to a Berita Harian report, the rejection of Manolan’s nomination papers meant the battle for Kemayan would see a straight fight between Khaizulnizam Zuldin from Barisan Nasional (BN) and Shapuan Hussin from Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Manolan, an Orang Asli, contested the Kemayan state seat in 2013 and 2018. He lost to BN’s Fadil Osman by 4,618 votes in the last general election.
