Flood victims in Johor and Sabah stay put at evacuation centres

The number of people displaced by floods in Segamat, Johor, increased by eight, while the number of victims in Sabah increased by one.

PETALING JAYA:
Flood victims continue to be housed at evacuation centres in Segamat, Johor, and Sabah.

Segamat saw the bigger increase by six people, bringing the total to 42, while the number of flood victims in Sabah increased by one to 63, Bernama reported.

The district disaster management committee in Johor said two temporary evacuation centres were still operating to accommodate residents affected by the overflow of Sungai Muar since Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Sabah disaster management committee secretariat said only one centre was still operating at Dewan Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Dun Banir in Beaufort.
