GUA MUSANG: A group of 30 schoolchildren and 10 teachers suffered light injuries in a bus crash while travelling home from an excursion to Zoo Negara in Kuala Lumpur.
They faced anxious moments when the bus they were travelling in crashed before ending up in an oil palm plantation off the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai road here this morning.
Gua Musang district police chief Sik Choon Foo said the group was heading back to Pasir Puteh after a trip to Zoo Negara.
“Further investigations found that at one point, the steering wheel failed to function causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which then crashed and ended up in an oil palm plantation,” he said in a statement today.
The victims were taken to the Chiku 3 health clinic for treatment, he said.
