PETALING JAYA:
Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) has set up a disciplinary committee to look into the action of the 13 suspended members, including Zuraida Kamaruddin who claims to be party president although the Registrar of Societies (RoS) has confirmed Larry Sng as holding the post.

Sng said PBM deputy president Wong Judat would chair the five-man disciplinary committee.

“This is not a witch-hunt but it is for the party to move ahead and prepare for the general election as we have very little time,” he told FMT.

He said since RoS had already made an official statement on his status as PBM president, all parties should respect that and consolidate to face the coming general election together.

Earlier today, Zuraida had insisted that she was still president when asked on the matter at a press conference here.

Amid the dispute, Sng has suspended 13 PBM Supreme Council leaders, including Zuraida, Haniza Talha, Daroyah Alwi, Rahimah Majid, Sathiskumar Govindaraju, Saiful Bahari Sahari, Na’im Brundage, Abdul Aziz Abdul Kadir, Zakaria Abdul Rahim, Muniraa Abu Bakar, Chua Lian Chye, Roger Tan and Albakri Salim.

Asked on the position of Zuraida’s watikah (candidate authorisation letter) for GE15, Sng said he had no personal ill feelings towards her, adding that he hoped to resolve the whole dispute constructively for the sake of the party.

“We want to put the dispute aside and focus on GE15. In order to win, we have to stop fighting each other, whether they are aligned to Zuraida or otherwise,” he said.
