MELAKA: The number of people evacuated to relief centres following floods in Melaka increased to 250 as of 8am today, up from 179 reported at 8pm yesterday.
The Melaka disaster management committee secretariat said 66 families were involved.
It said 193 evacuees were housed in three relief centres in Alor Gajah while another 57 were put up at a centre in Melaka Tengah.
Among the flood-affected areas are Kampung Tanjong Rimau, Kampung Gadek, Pengkalan, Taman Sri Bayu 2, Kampung Panchor and Kampung Beringin in Alor Gajah, while in Melaka Tengah, only Kampung Lanjut Manis was affected.
