SIBU: Sarawak DAP will field a fresh face alongside two others seeking re-election to Parliament from the state’s central region at the coming general election.
Alice Lau will defend the Lanang seat and Oscar Ling will try to retain Sibu, while newcomer Tony Chiew, the publicity secretary of Bintulu DAP, will run for the Bintulu seat.
The candidates were announced by Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen at Sibu DAP’s dinner here tonight, with party stalwart Lim Kit Siang in attendance.
Yesterday Chong announced that Sarawak DAP would vie for eight seats in the state: Mas Gading, Bandar Kuching, Stampin, Serian, Sarikei, Sibu, Lanang and Bintulu.
