PETALING JAYA:
The Sabah government will be giving the Sabah Government Pensioners Association an annual special grant of RM100,000 for the implementation of its programmes and activities.

According to Bernama, Sabah chief minister Hajiji Noor said the state government will also be giving RM150 in additional financial assistance to self-employed and gig workers, which will be channelled to their Employees Provident Fund’s (EPF) i-Saraan accounts.

“The state government will also approve an increase in the maximum amount of unused annual leave compensation from 160 days to 180 days from next year, and provide offices for retirees in a number of districts, (though this has) yet to be identified,” he said in a statement.

Hajiji also said the state administration will plan more programmes to rope in retired civil servants in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of various initiatives by the Sabah government.

He said government pensioners could still contribute to the community and state through the experience and knowledge they gained while in the public sector.
