KUALA LUMPUR:
Police have seized 246kg of drugs worth around RM10 million, as well as cash and other assets, after arresting two men last Thursday.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Azmi Abu Kassim said the first suspect was arrested at Desa Sri Hartamas in Kuala Lumpur, and the second suspect at Bandar Damai Perdana in Kajang.

“From these two arrests, we raided a homestay in Kajang where we seized 213kg of syabu, 112,000 Erimin-5 pills weighing 33kg, and RM70,000 in cash,” he said.

Two cars were also seized.

The drugs were sufficient for more than 500,000 addicts.

Azmi said the suspects, aged 37 and 38, had drug-related criminal offences. Both tested positive for syabu and have been remanded for seven days to assist with investigations.

He said the syndicate, which had been active for the past two months, operated by storing the drugs in homestays.

Separately, Azmi said they would deploy 7,700 police officers and personnel at polling centres in the coming general election (GE15).
