
Each case received through the system would be investigated in a transparent manner by the ministry’s integrity unit, he said at a press conference after attending the ministry’s monthly gathering here today.
MyHELP@KKM is a reporting system on bullying at the workplace for staff from the health ministry.
“Even though it has been in force for just four days, the system has already received six complaints. This shows that there are those who are brave enough to use the system.
“There is no need to be scared (to use the system) as the identities of all complainants will be kept confidential and an in-depth investigation will be conducted,” Khairy said.
On Aug 17, the healthcare work culture improvement task force confirmed that there was bullying and “burnout” as well as an unhealthy workplace culture at the health ministry.
On Sept 22, Khairy said the task force recommended the use of the MyHELP@KKM complaints system to deal with bullying cases at the ministry.
The complaints system, he said, would make it easier for allegations about bullying cases to be submitted directly as well as for follow-up action to be taken immediately through a transparent procedure.
