She said two state assembly members from Negeri Sembilan would also be joining the party but did not reveal their names.
Zuraida, who is PBM’s president-designate, said the party now has six MPs in its ranks, five of whom had won their seats at the 2018 general election while with PKR and another with Warisan.
The six MPs are Zuraida (Ampang), Santhara (Segamat), Xavier (Kuala Langat), Steven Choong (Tebrau), Mohamaddin Ketapi (Lahad Datu) and Larry Sng (Julau).
Asked if Santhara was still a member of Bersatu, Zuraida said with her announcement today, Santhara was automatically a member of PBM.
Doubts about whether he had left Bersatu arose in June after Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan denied that Santhara had quit. He said Santhara only intended to relinquish his position as head of Bersatu’s associate wing.
Zuraida also said she had been in discussions with the Umno leadership about PBM’s application to join the Barisan Nasional coalition. “The feedback is positive and there are just a few matters to be ironed out,” she said.
