PETALING JAYA:
Shah Alam mayor Zamani Ahmad Mansor has confirmed that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) raided the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) headquarters on Monday.

However, Zamani told Sinar Harian that he had no information on the purpose of the raid.

He said MBSA would only issue a statement on the matter after MACC provides them with a full report.

“It’s true the MACC came. But we don’t have information on what was the issue,” he said.

“When they came, they asked for files and documents. We extended our full cooperation to them. We gave them whatever they wanted to see.

“We’re just waiting for the report (from MACC) about what their investigation is about. We don’t have the full picture yet on this.”

The Sinar Harian report said a PKR lawmaker, who wished to remain anonymous, believed the raid was in connection with a flood mitigation project.

In a Bernama report, MACC investigations division senior director Hishamuddin Hashim confirmed that three people had been arrested.

Two of them were MBSA officials while the other was a contractor, he said.
