Muda plans gathering to push for GE15 to be held next year

The gathering will be held in front of Sogo KL on Saturday, at 4pm.

Muda had urged the prime minister not to bow down to pressure from Umno to hold the polls this year.
PETALING JAYA:
Muda is organising a gathering this Saturday in the capital to urge Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob to hold the 15th general election next year.

The gathering will be held in front of Sogo KL, at 4pm.

The party’s organising secretariat for the gathering also urged Ismail not to bow to the demands of Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who had called for GE15 to be held this year.

Last week, Zahid was reported as saying that GE15 should be held at the end of the year. He also said Barisan Nasional (BN) was willing to wade through floodwaters to campaign for GE15 if it was held during the monsoon season.

“Zahid’s statement (on BN’s willingness to wade through the floodwaters for GE15) was irresponsible and clearly showed that BN is desperate and does not care about people’s lives,” said the secretariat in a statement.

The organising secretariat also called for the top leaders in the party, including those who are serving as Cabinet ministers, to publicly oppose Zahid’s “nonsensical” push.

It also called for Ismail to announce a national-level flood preparation plan and present a motion in the Dewan Rakyat to get MPs’ participation.
