PETALING JAYA:
Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) and Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) have signed a pact not to clash with each other for seats in the upcoming general election (GE15).

The memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed by PSB president Wong Soon Koh and PBK president Voon Lee Shan, will see the two opposition parties decide on their share of parliamentary seats, the Borneo Post reported.

PBK secretary-general Priscilla Lau said Sarawakians were concerned that multi-cornered clashes would lead to the splitting of votes for the opposition.

“PSB and PBK are local Sarawakian parties with no affiliation or connection with Malaya. As such, we are able to bring issues concerning the state to the federal level and push our agendas through without fear or favour,” she said.

She said that voting PSB and PBK into Parliament “will be the start of Sarawak’s restoration”.

Present at the signing were PSB secretary-general Baru Bian and deputy president Johnical Rayong Ngipa.
