REMBAU: The health ministry has proposed that employers give workers an additional day’s leave to undergo annual health screening.
“I’ve requested this under the 2023 budget as it will have an impact on the employers,” said health minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
He said the cooperation of employers was important to ensure that employees undergo health screening.
“When a worker needs a day off to have a medical check-up which is usually once a year, hopefully the employers will give it. Otherwise, they will have to take it from their annual leave,” he said after a constituency event in Rembau today.
Khairy said employers should take into consideration that workers might not have time to undergo health screening on a weekend.
