Kuala Lumpur police chief Azmi Abu Kassim said the investigation papers were submitted to the deputy public prosecutor on Aug 30, but were returned for further probe.
“We will complete the investigation papers as soon as possible and, if there is a need, the statements of every witness who was summoned before this will be taken again,” he said in a Harian Metro report.
He said 17 witnesses had given their statements for the case involving Najib, while 10 others were summoned previously for Rosmah’s.
Last month, the chief registrar’s office of the Federal Court lodged a police report over an alleged leak of a court ruling in Rosmah’s corruption trial involving the Sarawak schools solar energy project worth RM1.25 billion.
The alleged leaked document was first posted by the Malaysia Today website run by blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin.
Last week, Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said the cops had recorded the statement of High Court judge Zaini Mazlan, who found Rosmah guilty on all three counts of corruption over the solar energy project.
Beh said court officers had also given their statements to the police.
Separately, Azmi said investigation papers on PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli’s alleged slander of special functions minister Abd Latiff Ahmad over the latter’s purported links to the littoral combat ship project were almost completed.
“It will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor this week,” he said.
