Copies of four pages of the agreement, which appear to contain 10 points, made their rounds in July. However, pages containing points 7, 8, and 9 were omitted.
Former Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Adam claimed points 7 and 9 included an agreement by Ismail to expedite the court cases involving Najib and Zahid, and to retain Attorney-General Idrus Harun.
However, Ismail’s special officer, Kamarul Zaman Yusoff, said point 7 dealt with the prime minister’s pledge to retain the appointments of Perikatan Nasional members in statutory bodies and government-linked companies (GLCs).
In a statement, he also said point 9 involved a promise to distribute special allocation for MPs “according to a certain distribution (method)”.
“There is nothing in the agreement that is peculiar, questionable or detrimental to Umno and Barisan Nasional because it’s only a normal agreement to ensure the government didn’t fall.
“There was no over-the-top condition in the agreement. Instead, it just involved keeping the quota of ministers and deputy ministers and retaining the appointments of PN members in statutory bodies and GLC,” he said.
Kamarul had lodged a police report against Lokman yesterday.
Yesterday, PN secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin sidestepped queries on Lokman’s claim, telling reporters to ask controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin instead.
Raja Petra had leaked the agreement on his blog in July, but not in full.
