PETALING JAYA: National Geographic UK (NatGeo) has drawn ridicule from netizens over its caption for a Facebook posting stating that Gardens by the Bay in Singapore was located in Malaysia.
The caption said “From the Archive: A family from India walks through the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, Malaysia.”
The post, uploaded yesterday, has since gone viral with many Facebook users leaving funny comments to mock the mistake by NatGeo.
“Also from the Archive: An IMAX theatre built with Vibranium in Wakanda, Johor Bahru.” commented Golden Screen Cinemas’ (GSC) social media team, with a picture of one of its theatres.
Meanwhile, media company MGAG left a comment with a picture of the Telekom Tower in Kuala Lumpur, and the caption reading, “From the Archive: Spiderman climbing up the Avengers Tower, New York City, Malaysia”.
There have been over 5,000 comments left on the post so far.
