BEIJING:
Four universities under the Malaysian Technical University network have signed a letter of intent (LOI) related to technical and vocational education and training (TVET) with the Guizhou Institute of Technology (GIT), located in southwest China.

In a statement, Education Malaysia Beijing (EMB) said the universities were Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka.

The LOI was signed at the Second Malaysia-China (Guizhou) Education Cooperation Forum, held in conjunction with the China-Asean Education Cooperation Week in Guiyang, China, recently.

According to EMB, this will involve student and academic staff exchange programmes in addition to cooperation in research projects.

GIT is a polytechnic with about 13,000 full-time undergraduate students.
