The wing’s chief, Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, said it was shocking that the document had been published even though the case was still being heard.
He questioned if the document published on Malaysia Today was authentic.
“There needs to be a denial by the court to prevent any mistrust that could taint the image of the judiciary,” Asyraf said in a Facebook post.
He said the wing would be lodging a police report so that the authorities could investigate the circulation of the judgment.
Yesterday, Asyraf questioned the need for getting the prime minister to intervene in the SRC case which was taking place at the Federal Court.
He was commenting on a news report claiming that a majority of Umno divisional leaders were pushing for Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob to intervene in Najib’s appeal.
Najib was charged with abuse of power, money laundering and criminal breach of trust over SRC funds amounting to RM42 million.
He was convicted in July 2020 on all charges and sentenced to 12 years’ jail and fined RM210 million. Najib’s last attempt at appealing the conviction was quashed by the Federal Court recently as it has since upheld it.
