New acting chief for Bukit Aman Special Branch

Baharuddin Ahmad takes over from Zamri Yahya, who was appointed to the post in June last year.

PETALING JAYA:
Baharuddin Ahmad has been appointed the acting chief for Bukit Aman’s Special Branch, taking over from Zamri Yahya who led the unit since June last year.

Baharuddin, who was appointed deputy director of Bukit Aman’s Special Branch on Aug 8, had previously served as the deputy director of the Special Branch’s E1 unit.

Meanwhile, prior to becoming the head of the Special Branch, Zamri was the director of Bukit Aman’s integrity and standards compliance department (JIPS).

Zamri officially handed over his duties to Baharuddin in a ceremony at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) in Kuala Lumpur.

In a statement, Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani thanked Zamri for leading the department and also serving in the force for the past 36 years.

Acryl Sani also congratulated Baharuddin on his promotion and expressed confidence that he would be able to fulfil his duties well.
