Unemployed man, 28, arrested for vandalising Chinese temple

Police said the man, believed to be mentally ill, has been remanded for further investigation.

A man was arrested for vandalising a temple shortly after video clips of the act made the rounds on social media.
PETALING JAYA:
An unemployed man, aged 28, has been arrested after he was caught on camera vandalising a Chinese temple in Balik Pulau, Penang, yesterday.

District police chief Kamarul Rizal Jenal said the man was believed to be mentally ill. He has been placed in remand for four days for further investigation.

Kamarul said he was arrested shortly after police were made aware of two short video clips of the incident, which went viral on Facebook.
