SHAH ALAM: A 41-year-old man with a criminal past died after being shot repeatedly and attacked with a parang by three assailants in Taman Sri Gadong, Klang, shortly after midnight last night.
Police said closed-circuit camera footage at the scene showed that three men stopped by the roadside near the victim.
“Three men alighted from the car and shot the man five to eight times at close range. They also attacked him with a parang before they escaped,” said South Klang police chief Cha Hoong Fong.
Police found him lying on the ground covered in blood, after receiving a tipoff at 12.22am, he said. The police forensics unit found several items that could aid investigations.
“Investigations revealed that the victim had 10 prior criminal offences, including major crimes like kidnapping,” he said.
