PETALING JAYA: A toddler died yesterday of injuries believed to have been caused by abuse, police said this evening.
Sentul police chief Beh Eng Lai said the three-year-old boy was found on a bed, in a flat in Kepong, with injuries to his forehead, mouth and nose.
There were also scratch marks and swelling on his back and right arm.
Police have since nabbed the toddler’s 40-year-old babysitter to facilitate investigations under the Child Act 2001 and the suspect would be remanded for five days starting today.
“Those with any information on the case are urged to call the Sentul police station at 03-4048 2206,” he said in a statement.
